The Missing Link: Part3

Progress Report:
Our progress for week was to start editing the videos we had from our interviews so far. We started with Nidal Kram, from Sudan and Mariah from America. It was very interesting how much time we had to spend on just these two video but then again we didn't have to do much sound editing because the locations for the interviews weresound controlled. We used Final Cut for all the editing.

We are still looking forward to interviewing Professors Skran and Vertinde to add another view to our students perspective.

Time Line:
We hope to edit at least half of the people we have interviewed so far.

It sounds like you all made some great progress, I was too in a similar boat this week, I am not dealing with sounds alot until my other scenes are done.

What basic strategies did you all use when editing the first two parts you mentioned. I think its important to soak in each aspect of our projects as we begin to accumulate our material. Its really helpful to sit back and listen to the footage mainly because we find new/further topics of discovery, places we may want to re shoot or further develop, and new technical ideas come to mind.
Interviewing professors is very rewarding, in past projects, I find that professors really share their input on the topic, they give you a variety of intelect, depth, ease, and an array of feedback that you will benefit from.
How wonderful!

Editing is for some the most creative part as you can create magic by how you pace, juxtapose and transition. Once you have a rough cut, you may want to add music or sounds to underscore the important points.
